Kong Kee Seafood Restaurant & Norris Road Chepati

It was a foodful day I had with Phillip Lim. Started off the day with coffee at Bedok before making our way to Kong Kee Seafood Restaurant @ 611-613 Lorong 31 Geylang.

As we have plans to eat other food in town, we just ordered their much talked about Traditional KL Hokkien Mee. I asked to see their noodles to ensure that they are not using udon instead of yellow noodles. They readily obliged, the Manager, Dora Ooi, assured us that their noodles as well as the sauce are imported from Kuala Lumpur as they could not get them locally. She also asked us to be a little patient as it would take time to steam the noodles with slow fire.

The dish was served within fifteen minutes. The texture of the noodles was just right with some slices of pork and a couple of fresh prawns. The sauce used was not too sweet and the sambal that comes with the dish complements the noodles very well. Price: S$5

After this hearty meal, we went to Mustafa to cool down and have the food digested. By 2.30pm, we were seated at the Chepati coffeeshop at the corner of Serangoon Road & Norris Road. Ordered tulang kambing and mixed cabbage & cauliflower. Phillip was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the thick curry. Total: S$5.50
