Lunch @ Eric Lim's Home

Chef Eric invited us yaukwees, namely, Thomas Tan, Dick Lee, Richard Lim, Phillip Lim & William Lim to his home today for lunch.

Like true yaukwees, we arrived at 12 noon sharp and were Chef Eric's pioneer guinea pigs to savor his claypot chicken rice. HAVE FOOD WILL TRAVEL! Apparently, this dish was cooked in an electric rice cooker...Cheating!

Anyway, a generous amount of marinated chicken, mushrooms and lup cheong were cooked together with the rice. There was also a nice plate of kailan boiled to perfection and the blended chilli paste was shiok.

Yaukwees, I leave the comments to you.

What's most important is that we all had a jolly good time.

Happy Chef Western Food

Chicken Kiev, this is the signature dish of Happy Chef. A generous portion of ham was stuffed in chicken white meat, coated with batter and deep fried. However, it was overdone and the meat was tough. The ham was also too salty.
Price: $8

Fish & Chips - Phillip & I agreed that this dish is much better. The fish fillet was done just right and very juicy and the batter remained crispy to the last mouthful. Price: $6

They have 30 dishes to chose from. It will take quite some time to decide which is the best one.

This stall is located in Tai Hwa Eating House @ Block 466 Crawford Lane next to the famous Tai Hwa Pork Noodles.

Lunch @ Raffles Town Club hosted by Thomas Tan

The Yaukwees, namely, Thomas Tan, Richard Lim, Phillip Lim, Dick Lee, Eric Lim, Joseph Bong and William Lim had our first gathering this year on 6th January 2012. A lunch at Raffles Town Club was hosted by Thomas Tan. We met there at 12 noon.

The ambience of The Cafe & Terrace on Level 2 is tastefully decorated and has excellent food quality. Besides our individual set of food shown above, a huge claypot of fish head curry to share was highly recommended by the staff of this restaurant. I must say the curry was really good. Very lemak!

We had a jolly good time over our meal till 3pm. It was a cheerful start to usher in 2012 and we look forward to more of such light-hearted lunches to come. Thank you Thomas!
