Lunch @ New Hong Kong Street Chun Kee Restaurant

The Yaukwees: William Lim, Dick Lee, Thomas Tan, Richard Lim & Phillip Lim
Sliced Beef with Ginger & Spring Onions, Luncheon Meat, Seasonal Vegetables & Rice
Diced Chicken with Black Bean Sauce, French Beans with Shrimp Floss, Fish Cakes & Rice
Marmite Pork Ribs, Fried Tofu with Thai Style Salad, Seasonal Vegetables & Rice
Song Her Hor Fun

There were no group lunches in November amongst the Yaukwees worth posting as we were busy with other personal commitments.

We gathered at this new restaurant that was introduced by Phillip. According to the owner, Jeremy, it is a new establishment opened only four months ago. Each of the above are priced at S$4.50 per set. The food was well prepared and tasty. Menu changes everyday.

As if not enough, we ordered a medium plate of Song Her Hor Fun to satisfy ourselves. Pure gluttony! Anyway, it was quite good but at S$14, is a bit too high.

We proceeded to Old Town Coffee @ Big Splash for coffee and talk cock session and left at 3pm.

Lunch @ Azmi Restaurant (Corner of Serangoon / Norris Roads)

Mutton Tulang
Mutton Keema

Had lunch with Dick and Phillip at Azmi Restaurant situated in a coffeeshop at the corner of Serangoon Road & Norris Road. Ordered the above to go with two pieces of freshly made chapati for each of us and a plate of plain white rice to share.

The tendon of the Mutton Tulang was soft and the curry super rich. The Keema was also very good. Next round, will try the Fried Goat's Brain, Fish & Chicken.

After lunch, we proceeded to Peace Center as Dick had some errands to do. Since we were there, strolled to Selegie Road for the famous Rochor Road Bean Curd. We had our dessert upstairs the shop which was air-conditioned.

Today, Dick bought Phillip & William lunch at Chinese Swimming Club.

Dick had Chicken Buah Keluak with Rice, Phillip ordered Laksa and I savoured the Hainanese Chicken Rice Set. Quality of the food was delicious and the price, reasonable. After lunch, Phillip and myself had tau suan & Dick loved the hot soya bean drink.

It was a nice lunch. Thank you Dick!

Nasi Padang lunch in JB

Beef Rendang
Chicken Liver
Sayor Lodeh
Sambal See Hum
Tauhu Goreng
Fried Egg in Ketchup & Omelette
Perkedel

Ice Jelly with Cocktail

You need not spend a bomb to enjoy tasty food. Went to this warong in Taman Sentosa yesterday with a friend and ordered the above dishes. The Padang food was as good as you see in the photos. Total cost was only Rm19 (S$7.75). How to resist not going back for more?

Walked to Pelangi Plaza for a nice cold drink and to cool down. Took a bus back to City Square for dessert and kill time before making our way back to Singapore.
