Seoul Garden - Johor Bahru City Square

My other makan kaki suggested lunching @ Seoul Garden in JB. Yesterday, we met at Kranji MRT Station around 10.30 and took the bus into JB. Did our errands and settled down in Seoul Garden by 11.45am. Ate till 3pm before taking the bus back to Singapore.

Above are photos of the variety of food available. There is also another counter of Fried Rice, Mee Goreng, French Fries, Chicken Nuggets and Crackers. On the other end is a salad bar and self-service ice cream counter with a selection of toppings.

Worth the price for Senior Citizens like us. Rm19.99++. Total is Rm23.20 (S$9.60) Weekdays & Weekend. Best of all is the long hours from 11.30am to 5pm.

Lunch with Phillip Lim @ E&Y Restaurant (JB)

Sambal Sotong Rm 5.50 (S$2.30)
Two Goreng Fish Rm5.50 (S$2.30)
Mixed Three Types of Vegetables Rm3 (S$1.25)
Eight Pieces of Prawns Rm4 (S$2.20)
Went to JB with Phillip this morning to buy medicine from InterPharm. However, we were hungry and decided to go for lunch first before running our errands.

This Indian restaurant is situated at the junction of Jalan Maju, beside Pelangi Plaza and the main road. We helped ourselves to dish the food and quantity we like from the counter. We had the above with teh haliah and the total cost was Rm27 (S$11.20).

Both Phillip & myself agreed the food was tasty and fish was very fresh. The eatery was also very clean and tidy.

After lunch we parked at Tun Abdul Rasak Complex. Walked to buy freshly baked banana cakes, medicine and Portuguese tarts from City Square before heading back to Singapore.

Lunch @ Penang Seafood Restaurant

76 Geylang Lorong 25A (Infront of Aljunied MRT Station)

Penang Assam Laksa $4
Penang Assam Laksa
Penang Fried Kway Teow (Medium) $7.50
Shrimp Roll $15
Assam Patong Fish Head $23
Orange Blossom Ribs $15

Coffee break @ HSBC Bank (Parkway Parade)

This morning, Phillip, Dick & William took the MRT to Aljunied Station. We met Thomas at Penang Seafood Restaurant around 11.40 and ordered a bowl of Penang Assam Laksa each and a plate of medium size Penang Fried Kway Teow to share. The Penang Assam Laksa was pretty lemak and not too sour with a generous topping of hae kor (prawn paste). I liked it although this is not my favourite food. Penang Fried Kway Teow was above average.

After we had finished this first round of food, Richard appeared and he too ordered a bowl of Penang Assam Laksa. As we were only half tank full, for round two, we ordered a plate each of Shrimp Roll, Orange Blossom Ribs, Assam Patong Fish Head and rice to go with the food. We were then 9/10 full. To ensure a full tank, we each down a glass of Ice Lime Juice, and as usual, Milo Kosong for Richard.

Next, we packed into Richard's car and headed for Parkway Parade as he wanted to go HSBC. While the officer attended to him, we waited at the lounge. Thomas ordered coffee and the lady brought us four cups of complimentary coffee and short bread shaped in the bank's logo. Excellent service!
